Each “Foto Friday” 2dopesistahs pay homage to our love of Pinterest by remixing one of the posts we saw there, the “30 Day Photo Challenge,” originally posted on the Little Bennet blog. We are presenting our photographs so that we can explore the power of the camera and how we see the world.
Day 7: Changes to Come
Da Realist 1: DIY
A few weeks ago, I “acquired” this perfectly good bench. OK, so it needs a lot of love. It’s a little rusty and needs to be sanded and painted, but I can fix that. . . I think. Armed with advice from Pinterest, websites, and my “helpful hardware man” at Ace, I will turn this ugly duckling into a beautiful swan. I have my sandpaper and my paint, so I’m ready to begin this DIY project. There are changes to come! Wish me luck, y’all.
Da Hype1: Bananas
I feel like no one appreciates a banana at this stage, but me. Each time someone comes in my house and sees a banana at this stage, they never hesitate to frown their face in discontent at my brown speckled banana. The window for eating a banana at the perfect time is slim. You don’t want to eat it when it’s not ripe because let’s face it, at this point, notebook paper has better taste. For me, when it has green on it, the banana has no value.
What happens when it’s completely brown, or close to it? The browner the banana, the sweeter. Brown bananas are the sweetest and make the best tasting foods. I’ll peel the skin off and place it in the freezer and know that it is there and available for banana pudding, banana pancakes, and smoothies.
There are changes to come for this banana. It will soon be brown enough to go into my banana nut pancakes, which I make from scratch!
